Claude + LinkedIn: how to connect Claude to your LinkedIn account
Short answer: Claude cannot reach LinkedIn on its own. You connect it with an MCP server. With Iridium that is one URL added as a custom connector in Claude, after which you can ask Claude to triage your inbox, draft replies in your voice, comment on posts and run outreach. Claude only drafts; you approve what sends.
Why Claude needs a connector
Ask Claude about a LinkedIn profile and it hits a login wall. There is also no official route around it: LinkedIn's API does not expose your inbox to third parties. A connector that holds an authenticated LinkedIn session is what gives Claude eyes and hands there. The tradeoffs between routes are laid out in How to give Claude access to your LinkedIn DMs.
Set it up in Claude
- Create an Iridium account at iridiumhqmcp.com/app and connect LinkedIn on the hosted page.
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector with the URL
https://api.iridiumhqmcp.com/mcp. - Approve the sign-in prompt once. Claude now lists Iridium's tools.
Claude Code and other clients
The same URL works as a remote MCP server in Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. That makes it useful for people who live in a terminal and want to clear LinkedIn without leaving it. The generic walkthrough is in How to connect your AI agent to LinkedIn.
What to ask Claude once connected
- "Go through my unread LinkedIn messages and tell me which ones need an answer." See when your inbox gets away from you.
- "Draft replies to the three threads waiting on me, in my voice." See replies that sound like you.
- "Find recent posts about MCP servers and draft comments I would actually post." See commenting that works.
- "Find ten product managers who used to work at my last company and draft connection requests." See outreach from inside Claude.
- "Review my profile and tell me what is weak." See an honest profile review.
What Claude cannot do
It cannot send anything on its own. Every message, comment and connection request becomes a draft, and approving is a separate step that you take. You can ask Claude what it did and it answers from an append-only log (how that works). Limits are enforced on the server, so a prompt cannot raise them. Staying within LinkedIn's terms remains your responsibility.

Questions people ask next
Can Claude access LinkedIn?
Not by itself. Claude needs an MCP connector that holds an authenticated LinkedIn session. With Iridium you add one URL as a custom connector in Claude and approve it once.
Does Claude have a native LinkedIn connector?
Claude supports custom MCP connectors, and Iridium is one you can add by URL. It is a third-party connector, not something built into Claude.
Can Claude Code use LinkedIn?
Yes. Add the same MCP URL as a remote server in Claude Code and its tools become available in your terminal session.
Is it safe to let Claude into my LinkedIn?
Claude only drafts. Nothing sends until you approve it, your password is entered on a hosted page rather than given to Iridium, and every action is written to an activity log you can read.
